Long grain fragrant rice from India or Pakistan, basmati rice is appreciated for its nutty aroma, and never sticky consistency.

For 4 portions, rinse 2 cups of basmati rice with cold water until it’s clear and drain. Pour 3 cups of cold water, the rice and a pinch of salt into a kettle and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, stir and cover. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
